The site will be undergoing some changes to make up for the blank screen IPhone users get when they try and view the slide shows. Alternate java presentations will be in place. Wallpapers will also be resized and added for HD and Retina screens.
The Photography Blog has been taken down since it has mainly served as a spam trap for the last year or so. Stock will get a Gallery here in the future and more Horology material will be posted as a result. I'd like to thank all the regular commenter's and people who supported the project. Studies are taking up a huge amount of my time but I'll try and get out and shoot the Fall colours this year.
Two sites were hacked tuesday so backups are being used while the garbage code is being deleted. I apologize for any delays or things not showing up as pretty as they usually are.
By this time I usually have a good selection of Spring growth and newly hatched wildlife ready for post but the weather as you may know has not been pretty. I've voiced my complaints to the higher authorities but as yet have not received a response. Then again I'd probably be a little worried if I did get a response.
I've pulled all of the sponsored advertising from the site so all that remains are personally supported links to causes I work with or support through donations. While ad revenue may pay for domains and hosting I've never liked the way it looked on the page. I've always tried to keep the design simple and somewhat elegant and ads had to be placed above the content to be effective. I like it better already and I hope everyone else does too.
Thanks for the emails telling me I don't know what I'm doing and yes, I fixed the front page again. With Flash being updated several times recently my software is once again out of date. More specifically the javascript isn't compatible. I hacked a dirty fix out so it works for now but I'll update my software shortly for the sake of sanity.
My apologies for the front page being black today. No it wasn't an homage to Spinal Tap but I forgot just how tricky xml and javascript is. Apparently this isn't like riding a bike. I added a couple of images but I still have about four hundred gigabytes to sort through and put through Lightroom and Photoshop so... Ya, it'll be a while. Most of what I'm shooting right now is stock so it doesn't really fit in other than the odd stylistic shots. The prop drawer is getting full so a few more of those should be appearing in the near future.
The big news is the date is now going to be in Italics! What can I say it's getting closer to Spring and I'm getting cabin fever. Time to get out the Nat Nast's and big shorts. My webmaster is moving on to a full time job with a Web Design group so I'll be back in the drivers seat within the next month or so. I'm still studying watchmaking which takes up a lot of time and resources but as the days get longer and warmer I'll be dusting off the outdoor lenses and pestering the wildlife once again. Thanks to Damien for all your hard work and I'm proud to be a part of your portfolio.
I'll be making minor updates to the site as I remember how to use Flash and Dreamweaver.
Happy New Year!
My Webmaster is currently on vacation. The site will be updated as soon as he returns.
New Images are in post and will be up in the next couple days.
Some of the page backups are reverting to older files. I'm not sure what the issue with the server is but I suspect it might be checksums. If anyone finds their content altered please let me know. So far it seems to be mainly the Sales and Links pages.
Updates to proofing sections now include saving and book marking.
All stock and client folders are updated. If your login does not show a current date please clear the cookie for this site.
The Domain www.anotherwatch.com is now for sale. If anyone is interested in purchasing this site contact me to arrange registration transfer. Cost is $199.00 and includes registrar privacy for the remainder of the year.
The last backup before an external drive crash was July. Some images from August and September were lost but most have been recovered. The Pride Week shoots are for the most part gone but I got a few back as you can see in the Gallery. There's new gear coming over the winter months and I see some ducks on ice images in the near future. The Horology site was spared so if you miss those shots, jump over and book mark them. No stock or vintage watch material was harmed. Thanks to the great pumpkin
External hard drive failure.
The new and improved home page is now finished. Clicking on any of the slides will maximize your browser and switch over to full screen images. The Menu bar disappears and clicking again will return you to the standard format. Thank you to Damien Vanderveen for working out the bugs in Flash and the new version of Lightroom export. My shooting is still limited, but I'm hoping to get some new Spring images up soon.
