The Pride Parade is coming!
Normally you can?t tell with birds but the Parade is coming up and everyones getting ready. Everyone get your gear out of the closet (like the way I worked that in there?)
and show some support.
Tips for shooting the parade:
1: A CPL is a must to cut reflections and specular highlights from all that baby oil and sequins.
2: There?s going to be a lot of contrast with black leather chaps and skin tones so watch your metering.
3: One of my favourite costumes is the white feathered Indian Chief. It?s a bitch to meter so I suggest checking your white balance before the parade starts.
4: Dancing is a given so set you?re ISO and or shutter speed to get the fastest action possible.
5: Gay men may be slim but remember shoulder pads and a yard and a half of chiffon covers a lot of area. Step back or use a wide angle to get the best coverage.
6: If you have the guts, try some macro!
7: Above all have a good time. You don?t have to be gay to go to the Pride Parade. Everyone?s there to have fun. No one?s there to shove their lifestyle down your throat, that?s the after party.
