We lost another great artist this week

In Gilmours own words, “What would Dark Side of the Moon be without Us and them and Great Gig in the Sky”
The first time I heard Pink Floyd was after some friends shared a particular herbal substance with me and put on Ummagumma. Back then the favorite cut was “Small furry animals gathered together in a cave and grooving on a pict” My favorites were Grandchester Meadows and The Grand Viziers Garden Party. I’ve always steered towards the melodic in my musical tastes so when Dark Side came out I knew I was living in the proper time.
Of course we incorporated into our every days lives like repeating phrases throughout our conversations. We even had a favorite spot in an abandoned subdivision which was completely hidden from the local Law Enforcement. We could park our car behind a hedge and smoke ourselves silly while the police cruised through the streets trying to figure out where we were. This was of course referred to as the Dark Side of the Moon. This is also the place where we started talking about life and what it meant in a serious way. I came to understand my friends and family better as people with the writing of Pink Floyd.
Richard Wright was the man who steered the melodies through the bends and made sure we had a smooth and comfortable journey. He will be missed greatly by family and friends and by this man, who although never meeting him felt like he knew him.
Good night Richard, be at Peace.
